A member of the teaching staff was hurt, and the police managed to catch the person responsible for this distressing incident. The incident took place around 1:00 in the afternoon at a place called Caudill Laboratories on the campus. Thankfully, the police successfully apprehended the suspect a little after 2:30 p.m., and Chancellor Guskiewicz shared this news with everyone during an evening meeting.

The police are still searching for the weapon that was used in this incident, Chief James mentioned. It’s also uncertain whether the teacher and the person who caused harm were acquainted.
Chancellor Guskiewicz expressed deep sorrow and concern about the incident, acknowledging the fear it may have generated among the school community. However, he assured everyone that they will unite to restore a sense of security and well-being.
When the incident occurred, the school quickly alerted students to stay indoors, close windows and doors, and await further instructions around 1 p.m. Afterward, they updated everyone that the suspect was still at large. Finally, they gave the all-clear signal just before 4:15 p.m.
As a result of the situation, classes and activities at the school were canceled for both Monday and Tuesday.
Throughout the time when the police were actively searching, students were advised to remain indoors and wait for the green light. Witnesses reported seeing police officers with guns combing through the campus, diligently looking for any clues.
News footage displayed a significant number of police vehicles on the campus, with their emergency lights flashing. At times, individuals were seen leaving buildings in an orderly line, holding their hands up as a precaution.
A news reporter captured a moment on camera where the police were apprehending a person who may have been involved. The person was wearing dark clothes and glasses and was seen in handcuffs.
This incident occurred during the second week of classes, impacting a community of approximately 32,000 students, along with more than 13,000 teachers and staff members.
