Smiths Detection to supply Noida International Airport with Advanced Screening Tech: Zurich Airport International AG won the contract to develop Noida International Airport in 2019 and construction is underway. The airport will be operational by the end of 2024 the airport will have one runway and a terminal that can accommodate 12 million passengers with the possibility of further expansion in future construction phases.
Noida International Airport will be the country’s most modern airport and aims to be the nation’s most sustainable. It will use technology to offer quick, efficient, and simple-to-use services to travelers airlines, passengers along with other airport partners.
Smiths Detection will supply the Hi-SCAN 6040 DV, which is an advanced high-resolution, dual-view X-ray screening system that will be used to screen passengers’ carry-on baggage.
Also, the HI-SCAN 10080 XCT, which is a next-generation high-speed computed tomography (CT) detector for explosives that meets TSA as well as ECAC rules and BCAS standards, and The iLane A20, a newly introduced next-generation automatic tray return system that provides a continuous circulation of the tray thus eliminating the bottlenecks, and offering a seamless checkpoint process; and IONSCAN 600 portable explosives and drug trace detector; as well as a variety of screening systems using X-rays to identify large items.
